KANO Spirit(EN)

The Spirit of KANO

The story of KANO is a shared memory between Taiwan and Japan.
Players from different backgrounds stood on the same field,
followed the same rules,
and worked toward the same goal.

For project‑KANO,
this is more than history.
It is a symbol of what cooperation can look like:
different societies working together under a shared framework.

Shared rules make cooperation possible

The KANO team was able to play together
not because they were the same,
but because they shared:

Institutions work the same way.
When two societies want to cooperate,
they need a structure that allows them to interact
fairly, safely, and transparently.

project‑KANO aims to design this kind of structure.

Respecting differences, not erasing them

The KANO team included players from many cultures and communities.
They did not lose their identities.
Instead, they found a way to work together
within a shared set of rules.

This reflects the core message of project‑KANO:

It is a way of honoring diversity while moving forward together.

A symbol for the future

The story of KANO continues to inspire people
because it shows what can happen
when individuals with different backgrounds
aim for something greater together.

project‑KANO hopes to bring this spirit into the 21st century:
to help Japan and Taiwan build a new model of cooperation
at the institutional level,
and to become a positive example for the Pacific region.

What we believe the KANO spirit represents

This is what we mean by the spirit of KANO.
